You may have read in a previous post that my hubby bought my a sewing machine for Christmas. It’s been a dream of mine to create through sewing for a long, long time and I’m finally making it a priority!
I took my mother-in-law to the best flippin’ fabric store anyone has ever stepped foot in (in my humble opinion) to choose fabric for the boys’ room and the gals’ room.
The bag is even cute.
It was SO hard to choose only one for each but I fell in love with…
This for the boys!
And this for the girls!
My side-kick, Zeke who was sicky and wanted to help
I even added lining to keep out the sunlight Ohio gets so much of 😉
And Bexley was also there sitting pretty.
Here are the embarrassing before pictures…
Yes, we have been doing this for 2 years…eek!
Ghet-to…I know. Completely embarrassed. <--not really but I should be.
And here is the redemption!
For those of you who sew, you know curtains are a piece of cake! But, I didn’t want to focus on that. I want take the baby steps needed in order to be able to sew well. So yes, I started with curtains and I’m so proud of myself! I’m excited to make some for Andy and my room, the kitchen and the dining room. Yep, these windows are bare as well 😉 I mean, why would I buy curtains when I know I really want to make them?!
Here is what I learned. Stop being so dang prideful and take advantage of others who have done this a time or two. I would have saved about an hour per panel…wow. Who knew an iron could save so much time!
